Switchboard in Ms-Access
Switchboard is a type of form that displays a menu of items that a user can click on to open data entry forms, reports, queries and other actions in the database. A switchboard is created after all of the forms and reports for a database application have been completed.
Create the Switchboard:
1: Select database tool and Click on the Switchboard Manager
* If this is the first switchboard made for this database, you will be prompted to create a new one as shown below. Click the Yes button.






2: The Switchboard manager will appear as shown below:






















3: Write name of switchboard(Data Entry) and click on Make Default

4: Click on New option.
5: Click on the Edit menu to edit the “Main Switchboard”. The Edit Switchboard Page will appear as shown below.


6: Add a new switchboard item by clicking on the New… button. The Edit Switchboard Item form will appear as shown below. Fill in the fields as follows:








Click on the OK button to save this new Switchboard item.
7: Under Text We write name of menu item such as ‘Add Record’.
8: Under Command box select Open Form in Add Mode.
9: Under Form box select name of the form.
10: Repeat the above step two more times to add Switchboard items for the Accounts Data Entry form and the Customer Report.



















11: After creation of all items we click on close button. Again click on close button.
12: To Run switchboard manager we press double click on switch board name from left side of the screen.
13: To modify format layout of switchboard we use layout view under view option.
